Sara and Ryan

Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Sara and Ryan's wedding at St. Paul's Shrine on Euclid Ave. At 130+ years old, it is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches I've shot in. Sara and Ryan were a blast to work with, and their wedding party was one of the nicest groups I've worked with.

We hit the campus of St. Ignatius for a few photos since Ryan graduated from there, then we walked down the street to Heck's, where they had their first date. Talk about romantic! From there, we headed downtown to the Hyatt for an awesome reception in the old Arcade. Here are a few of my favorites:

I love shooting at the Hyatt in the summer because the ceiling is one giant skylight. The natural light is great for photographs.
Congratulations Sara and Ryan!

Pretty Momma

Here is a quick peek at a few of my favorites from Monday's maternity shoot. I had fun draping this gorgeous mother-to-be in every fabric I could get my hands on.

Stay tuned for more from this fun maternity session!

Those in between moments

Here is a sneak peek from this weekend's family portrait session. Just running through the first rough edit, and I came across this. It's often the unexpected shots during those in between moments that catch my eye.

Photographers band together to fight hunger

I have joined forces with some of Northeast Ohio's best photographers to fight hunger, and I am so excited. In partnership with The Cleveland Foodbank and Harvest for Hunger 2009, I and seven other studios are hosting a contest to raise money to help put food on the table for those who need it.

Here's how it works: One lucky bride and groom will win all day coverage of their wedding by 6-8 of Northeast Ohio's top wedding photographers for the bargain price of $1000. Yes, seriously-- one thousand dollars for 6-8 photographers and hundreds upon hundreds of gorgeous photographs. And the best part is that all of the proceeds will be donated to The Cleveland Foodbank and Harvest for Hunger 2009.

Here are the participating photographers:
Mark Alan
ME :)
Andrew Jordan
Steven Mastroianni
Rob Rife
Robert Rodriguez
Rick Sheridan
Tom Forrest

There's never been a team like this for one wedding. Not only am I looking forward to donating my time and money to a great organization like The Cleveland Foodbank, but I can't wait to give one lucky bride and groom amazing photographs created in tandem with these amazing photographers.

For more information, or if you would like to enter this contest, e-mail photogroup@live.com. Good luck!

Alan's 3-month portrait session

Here are a few images from Alan's 3-month old photo shoot. He was a very serious baby, but with three adults hopping, cooing, smiling, jiggling, jingling, twisting and generally making fools of ourselves, we managed to get some beautiful photos.

Apparently, being this cute is very tiring.

National Geographic's Winners

Ahh...the scent of amazing photography. Check out the winners of National Geographic's 2008 International Photography Contest.

Between magazines, the internet and our own digital cameras, there are so many beautiful, impressive photographs available all the time. It can be easy for our eyes to skate over them, taking the images and the effort it took to capture them, for granted. These photos make me pause.
