Goddess

I was lucky enough to photograph Liz recently--a gorgeous, sexy pregnant woman. With a maternity portrait, my goal is to reveal the inherent beauty and sexiness of the human pregnant form. Yes, I've heard the complaints of feeling swollen, fat, etc. But what could be more beautiful than a woman about to bring another human being into the world? I love trying to document the hope, mystery, excitement, trepidation and the zillion other emotions that accompany pregnancy and motherhood.

Here are a few of my favorites from her maternity session.

With that fall of dark curly hair, and her self-assured, confident manner, Liz put me in mind of a goddess of life and beauty.
If I had to describe my photographic philosophy, it would be a celebration of humanity. Whether it's a wedding, or a pregnancy, or a portrait for posterity, I love showing the many faces and facets of humans. People are so complex, I feel this process will be endless--which is exciting for me as a photographer.
