Breaking the rules

Here is an image from Meghan and Adam's engagement session that I just can't seem to get over. By rights I shouldn't like it. On its own, it is not a good portrait. There is sun flare at the top. Their faces aren't as crisp as they could be. And yet, there's something I love about it. Maybe because more so than the rest of the photos from this October shoot, this one shows that golden light that is so indicative of a fall day. Their expressions are natural, and you get the sense that they're not just in love, but enjoying each other. And I think it works as part of a series, which is often how PJ photography works.

Sometimes things that aren't absolutely perfect technically are the most stunning and real portrayals of magnificence. =) Beautiful photo, Lindsey!
