Yours truly

Wedding season is in full swing and I have been working like crazy. Here are a couple from last weekend's double header.

This is me getting detail shots during Andrew and Julie's wedding at The Oaks Lodge in Chippewa Lake last Saturday. What a gorgeous place to have a wedding!

These colored lights reminded me of tiny, delicate hot air balloons. With the late afternoon sunlight shining through, I fell instantly in love.
I have a feeling this will end up in Andrew and Julie's album. Stay tuned for more.

Backyard portrait session

Here are a few favorites from a recent backyard portrait session. While I love creating formal portraits in the studio (I know, you might not think so to look at my work, but it's true!), working on location during the summer is so much fun. Particularly with children, I'm more apt to get a natural looking image when they're on familiar ground.

Working with friends in the rain

Oh my gosh, it's been a long time since I posted. I have been crazy busy with weddings--and not just my own! Here are a few from a wedding I shot with Herb Ascherman last week.

This couple did a Tim Burton Nightmare Before Christmas theme for their wedding. Clouds gathered while we shot the formals before the ceremony, and I got the feeling Chris and Kris were loving it.

A few drops splashed down, and the officiant hurried things along.

They finished the ceremony just in time. The rain came down, and everyone made a dash for the doors of the Myers University Club.
